Final Notice

Essential Workers: Final Notice

A protest poster from a future that did not have to happen. Refinery towers rise over a honeycomb gone grey, and the lettering shouts, stacks and slips out of line as it pleads for the bees to be saved. The smaller lines are quieter and worse: where did all the pollinators go, hive silent, starvation reigns. The workers have gone and the work has stopped. Our choices today are building the world we wake up to tomorrow. If this is where the road ends, who decided to walk it?

Four-colour enamels are screen printed and layered across two sheets of glass. The depth between the layers lets the acid yellow glow against the dark industrial grey, and the type sits at different depths so the message seems to push forward. The glass stands in a freestanding hardwood box frame, ready to display on a shelf, mantel or sideboard.

Part of Essential Workers: bees, and the people who step in when the bees can’t, doing the work the world depends on.
