Four Seasons: Winter

A young face at peace in the cold. Frost-blue crystals spread across the skin like feathers of ice, and the expression is still and embracing, with no sign of struggle. Winter is not an ending here. It is patience, rest and quiet resilience, the beauty of waiting for what comes next. This is the face of stillness: serene, enduring and sure that the year will turn.

Four-colour enamels are screen printed and layered across two sheets of glass. The depth between the layers gives the blues a frozen depth that shifts as the light moves through them. The glass stands on a chunky 30 mm yew base with a wavy edge, so the natural grain and curve of the wood sit beside the printed face.
