Masks We Wear

A face carrying more than it shows. Shards of red, cobalt, white and gold pull in different directions, and the cracks are beginning to show. Every line is working to keep the whole thing together. This is the mask we wear under burden: steady on the surface, straining beneath, and holding on through sheer effort.

Four-colour enamels are screen printed and layered across two sheets of glass. The depth between the layers lets the fractures catch the light and appear to shift as you move around the piece. The glass stands on a hardwood plinth, ready to display on a shelf, mantel or sideboard.
